Gas Engine Towing Capacity
There are two gas-powered engines on the 2026 Ford F-250: the 6.8-liter V8 engine and the 7.3-liter V8 motor. The former can help you tow between 13,800 lbs and 17,300 lbs, depending on your trim and axle ratio. With the 7.3-liter V8 engine, you can increase towing potential to 18,200 lbs.
Diesel Engine Towing Capacity
You can achieve more power for towing by equipping your Ford F-250 with a diesel engine. Towing power starts at 15,500 lbs with the 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel engine installed; with the high-output variant, towing starts at 18,200 lbs. Both diesel engines max out at 22,000 lbs with conventional towing.
Maximizing Towing Power
If you opt for fifth-wheel or gooseneck towing on your vehicle, you can improve your towing potential significantly. For gas engines, maximum towing power is increased to 19,500 lbs. When you run with a diesel engine, these towing setups let you achieve the model's maximum 23,000 lbs of towing potential.
